My bird friend

Well, I guess its been a few months since I last made my thoughts known to my vast legions of fans out on the internet.
A lot has been going on in our household....I've since learned that the 6 inch green friend's name is Kiwi... and I chase him every chance I get, especially when he gets close to my food.. man... he better watch out. Birds shouldn't be on the floor anyway.
Sometimes I let him clean my fur though, and its all in good fun my chasing.. he knows that.
He still says 'I love you Max' .. and I get a wee little tear in my eye.....

A Flutterby

Woof!
So, I have a new 'friend' in the house now. He is about 6 inches long, bright yellow and green, and makes a lot of noise. I am NOT afraid of him, I just don't LIKE him. With his claws, and his beak and those beady little eyes....ewwww... The moment he lifts off from his 'cage' there is this fluttafluutta flutta noise.. and then he lands.. right on mum's HEAD! How DARE he!
GRRRRRRR.....
I know though, if I attack, I will get in supreme trouble, so I have to suppress my natural instinct to bite the little critter....I bet he'd make a good meal...although, I've never eaten ANYTHING alive before.. gross man....
Apparently Budgerigar means 'good eating' in Australian aboriginal speech (cuz I'm that smart, I know this stuff)...didn't you see my photo shoot in previous blogs?

Eventually I'll get used to him. Sometimes he calls me...by my name....and he says 'I love you' a lot...but, thats okay...

18 Floors UP

I went to mum's new work place today. Downtown. She has a window seat, overlooks a river, people look like specs. I was standing on her desk, looking out the window. My legs were shaking a bit cuz I'd never been so high (in a building). Course, I've climbed MOUNTAINS, but the earth has a nice curve to it, its not straight down like a window is. Sheesh. The river was kinda pretty when the ice breaks. I enjoyed that.

The New Job

Woof.
Well, she did it. Mum finally made the choice to change jobs. After 11 years! Shocking, yes. I can't even conceive of that amount of time.
Problem is, she takes the bus now, which adds 2 hrs to her day away from me! I don't like that much. My buddy Sam's mum is going to check up on me from time to time, and I can go to Sam's place during the day which makes the 10 hr separation a little more bearable. Ah what the heck.. I'd just sleep anyway....

Fatal Choice

So, the mouse chose. Quick death. She mustn't have known it was coming. Mum tried everything else, but, the mouse stuck to what it knows. Peanut butter behind the fridge is a good thing to a mouse.
Mum felt really bad though. She prayed about it. The mouse is in a better place now.

A choice

Well well, who could the invader be? Suffice to say he is my mortal enemy.. or, a nice light snack.
He has invaded our den from the construction happening on the church in the next yard. There may be multiple invaders, we are not sure.
Poor little critters, their own homes have been buldozed, and where can they go, but someone else's home. Yes, I'm talking about the impetuous mouse.
They must love the warmth and the constant food availability.
Mum has waged a war though. Traps. I hope they pick the 'humane' one. Then they shall be set free. However, if they choose the wooden one.. boom .. a ticket to mouse heaven.
I don't suppose they know they have a choice.
How would I tell them? Would I need to become one of them to be able to communicate? I suppose that is the only way. Well, maybe I could guide them with more tempting food. But which is more humane? Instant death, after living such a rich and savory life in my house,(ending on a good note as they say) or be sent out into the cold Canadian outdoors where they would need to fend for themselves after being used to luxury. We still have a few hours before dusk settles in the land, and they begin their nightly hauntings....perhaps we will give them only one choice. So many issues. I think I'll leave it up to them.

My cake

Alright, alright, not something a HUMAN would want to eat, but I sure loved it... mmm sweet goodness, and my Favorite thing in the whole world.. a ball.. right in the middle .. whoopeee... I must be loved. My buddy SAM came and helped me eat it. I was a bit nervous of the sparklers at first, but, then I was okay.

I'm independant!

Well, tonight I went out with my buddy Sam. I am independant now.... don't even need mum to come with me! I was gone for over an hour to Sam's house. Sam's humans had relatives over, but they didn't have any cool balls to throw for me, so I just played with Sam a lot. I'm way more confident now, since I know I can take care of myself without having mum around.
One time she was gone for a long while, on a 'holiday'. Why she would even consider not taking me I'll never know, I like boats!!! But I stayed with her parents at the farm for a while. Ate lots of chicken, and got kinda chubby, but, I'm still svelte...
Wish mum had lots of chicken.
